THE FOUNDATION OF OUR JOURNEY

becas U

“A Change Agent is one who possesses the vision for a better future and the ability to transform problems into appropriate solutions.”

BecasU was our flagship program designed to empower young talent in the region. More than just financial support, it was a comprehensive training ecosystem that demonstrated that, with the right tools, young people become the architects of a better future for their communities.

Our Intervention Model

We don't just fund studies; we implement a methodology of Comprehensive Training and Community Action:

Smart Financial Support:

A mixed model of scholarships and a repayable educational fund to guarantee commitment and sustainability.

Academic
Support:

Personalized mentoring and
soft skills workshops
reduced dropout rates and
enhanced leadership.

Theory to
Practice:

The students did not just study; they designed and implemented personal projects with a direct social impact on their communities.

Investment in human capital yielded results…

High-potential young people received scholarships.
Bachelor's degree graduates who are now active professionals.
% Change Agents: Young people trained to identify needs and design sustainable solutions.
SUCCESS STORIES

“My dream was to support the young people in my community, but the economic barrier seemed insurmountable. Filantropis not only funded my degree, but believed in my potential to lead.”

From Student to Agricultural Leader: The Legacy of

Camilo Ramírez

I studied agronomy because I identify with nature; it's a noble profession. I feel capable of using new production systems and resource management methods to improve the quality of life for the population. Filantropis has been a great support to me throughout my university studies. Access to financing is crucial; Filantropis covered my tuition and monthly fees for all five years. I also had access to a repayable fund to cover my academic expenses, food, and materials.

Professional Training: I received training in Leadership, Resilient Communities, Conflict Resolution, project implementation support, and educational tours, all of which have been valuable both personally and professionally. Thanks to Filantropis, I achieved my dream: I have a formal job and I spend my time advising micro-businesses in agriculture. I am also a primary school teacher and I am currently starting my own business.
